SANTA MARINA BEACH
Santa Marina beach is located in an exceptional place: Ribadesella, a touristic village with a significant natural, cultural and gastronomic offer. We find many attractions in its one and a half kilometers of fine sand which turn it into the most suitable place to take pleasure in summer time, but during all seasons as well, like its seafront surrounded by beautiful mountain chains that bring us to find ancient traces of dinosaurs, the lovely estuary formed by the Sella river mouth or the peculiar structures encircling the beach which remember old times. Santa Marina is the perfect beach for the enjoyment of couples, families and friends. Surf and sea sports lovers will also be able to enjoy their passion in this exclusive environment which has suitable ladders and ramps, bay watch security, showers and toilets, a large car park and several beach bars that make it a remarkable beach to enjoy all throughout the year.
We find the Vega beach just 7 kilometers far from Ribadesella, a protected wild spot of great beauty that has been declared Natural Monument due to its outstanding botanical interest. A footpath walks along its 2 kilometers which allow us to enjoy the richness of its fine sand dunes and wildlife. Several attractives make it a beach which should be visited: the existence of an unique plant known as "mosquita dorada", the striking "aliseda pantanosa" formed by the waterlogged grounds of the Acebo river mouth, the varied types of “aves limícolas” – waders staying here in their migratory flows, or the two dinosaur fossilized footprints which are one of the most attractive points of the Jurassic route in the Asturian shore. Despite this almost unspoilt environment, the beach has pedestrian access with no barriers, ramps, stairs and a large car park besides bay watch security during all the summer time.
This small and lovely cove of only 100 meters long is placed near the old quarter of the village of Ribadesella. It is surrounded by the Corbero mountain or the Atalaya where we find a path with amazing views that leads us to a popular little chapel consecrated to the Virgin of the Guia. Its charm is based on the peace brought by the remarkable beauty of its landscape which becomes it in a touristic spot enjoyable all throughout the year, close to the centre of Ribadesella and fully equipped with adapted access, showers and bay watch security. A unique beach that you shouldn´t miss out.
